Part 2: You got the Power! - (ECE)

About the Exhibit

Available E-day attractions include interactive electric bike and remote-control car stations. Demos of electric power engineering with videos and scale models of the largest wind turbine and supersonic passenger aircraft in their class!

This booth is supported by the Power and Energy Institute of Kentucky. The PEIK institute attracts and educates the next generation of electric power engineers. Established in 2010 with multi-million-dollar support from the Department of Energy (DOE), PEIK successfully continues its activities with generous support from UK, industry utilities, and private donors. PEIK has revitalized nationally acclaimed curriculum in power and energy with hundreds of annual course enrollments and issues undergraduate and graduate power and energy certificates.

Coding Ozobots

About the Exhibit

Learn how to code a robot with no screens or computers required! Meet our Ozobots: robots that can see! Code your Ozobot to follow a path, avoid objects, and perform tricks by drawing patterns of colored squares for it to see with its photo-sensor "eyes".

Engineer with NSBE!

About the Exhibit

We, the National Society of Black Engineers, like to showcase the technical project we've been working on over the last semester. It combines the expertise of the many different majors we're made up of including but not limited to: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science. With our project, we're hoping to bring the future into today!

Anyone Can Build a Rocket!

About the Exhibit

Come make a rocket with UK's competition rocketry team, SpaceLex! Build and launch your own paper rocket, hear about our club's past competition-winning rocket and other projects we're working on right now, and learn more about aerospace engineering opportunities at the University of Kentucky and around the Lexington area.

Straw-paper rocket activity is appropriate for elementary and middle schoolers, but all ages are welcome!
