Exhibitor: Center for Nanoscale Science and Engineering

Location: ASTECC / Basement Room A012

About the Exhibit

The availability of at home 3D printing for hobby use has expanded exponentially over the last 5-10 years as the technology has improved. This type of 3D printing is great for a wide variety of uses and allows for additional degrees of freedom/complexity not available via traditional fabrication processes. This freedom of geometry and complexity is especially useful when making making things at the micro- and nanoscale. Applications requiring this size scale include optics, biomedical, and microrobotics just to name a few. Here at UK, the Center of nanos Science and Engineering (CeNSE) is fortunate enough to be home to the Nanoscribe Photonic Professional GT2 which allows for unique research capabilities. This exhibit will showcase the use of this system as well as some fun and engaging design capabilities through example prints.
